I have experience working with children/teens (12+), individual adults, couples, and families, supporting them through challenges such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, grief/loss, cultural identity concerns, men’s mental health, relationship challenges, stress, trauma, and sports and performance management. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and take a client-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy.

I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Logotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to support clients in navigating life’s challenges. My approach is tailored to each person’s needs, helping them gain clarity, build resilience, and move toward personal growth.

I offer therapy in English and Chinese and value a culturally informed perspective. As someone who immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong at a young age, I understand the complexities of adjusting to new environments and balancing cultural identities.

I have a background in psychology and history, with graduate studies focusing on the emotional and psychological well-being of migrants and the challenges associated with migration. My experience in Human Services—working with youth and adults—further deepened my commitment to supporting individuals through life’s challenges. In addition, my background in competitive sports has given me a strong understanding of performance, resilience, and mental well-being.

My approach to therapy is open, friendly, and person-centered. I believe that with the right support, individuals can develop new ways to navigate challenges that once felt impossible. I work collaboratively with my clients, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I have experience working with individuals facing ADHD, FASD, ASD, mood disorders, trauma, stress, and anxiety.

I believe that every individual is the expert of their own life. My role is to help clients gain insight and discover meaningful solutions to move forward. I tailor therapy sessions to accommodate each person’s unique needs, challenges, and goals.

Hello! My name is Tom Ho and I’m currently a Registered Provisional Psychologist.

At a young age, I immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong and so I am able to communicate in Chinese and English. In my spare time, I try to travel as much as possible to different places to better understanding various lifestyles. I also have a small puppy that I love and care for.

With my history working and volunteering with people from all backgrounds, I was inspired to become a psychologist to help those in need. I have a strong passion in career counselling for young adults due to my extensive knowledge having worked in the Post-Secondary field. I hold a very high regard for my clients because I believe that each person’s journey is unique and special. My approach involves an open mindedness to look at each challenge through multiple lens and to utilize your strengths to manage it effectively. It is my pleasure to work with you in exploring different challenges and strive for self-improvements.
