Hello! My name is Tom Ho and I’m currently a Registered Provisional Psychologist.

At a young age, I immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong and so I am able to communicate in Chinese and English. In my spare time, I try to travel as much as possible to different places to better understanding various lifestyles. I also have a small puppy that I love and care for.

With my history working and volunteering with people from all backgrounds, I was inspired to become a psychologist to help those in need. I have a strong passion in career counselling for young adults due to my extensive knowledge having worked in the Post-Secondary field. I hold a very high regard for my clients because I believe that each person’s journey is unique and special. My approach involves an open mindedness to look at each challenge through multiple lens and to utilize your strengths to manage it effectively. It is my pleasure to work with you in exploring different challenges and strive for self-improvements.

I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.

I am very passionate about my chosen career and consider my work with clients a privilege. I engage with clients in a professional, non-judgmental, genuine, authentic, compassionate, and honest manner. I work with my clients by building a trusting and confidential therapeutic rapport and work from a client-centered and collaborative approach. I value going at the client’s pace and have appreciation of the clients lived experience. I believe that counselling can increase a client’s insight, awareness, acceptance, and hope for a better functioning life.

I have experience working with youth, adults, seniors, and groups with a variety of mental health illnesses. I have special interest and enjoy working with people who have experienced trauma, grief, loss, and self-esteem/self-worth issues. Among those, I work with people who suffer from stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, PTSD, and ADHD. I also respect different diversities and cultural backgrounds (specifically First Nations), as well as, I have attended trainings and allied with LGBTQ2S+ community members.

I am skilled and trained in the delivery of evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and am a Grief Recovery Specialist with the Grief Recovery Institute. I have also completed Level 1 and 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work with couples.

Hello! My name is Alex, and I’m currently a Counselling Psychology Intern.

After completing my undergraduate degree in Professional Communications at MacEwan University, I felt called to pursue deeper, meaningful work supporting others. I am currently completing my Master of Counselling Psychology at City University. My experience working in a women’s shelter shaped my passion for supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, and intimate partner violence. I have a special interest in working with clients ages 12 and up who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges.

My therapeutic approach draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy, while maintaining a strong person-centred lens in all that I do. I value creating a safe, culturally sensitive, and inclusive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healing journey.
